What is in this collection

Sprays cover more ground than most people expect. This collection runs from braid sprays that keep a fresh install comfortable, through sheen sprays that put shine back on a set, to holding sprays that keep a style where you put it. There are also refillable bottles for water and diluted conditioner, plus a handful of face setting sprays such as the Absolute New York probiotic range for anyone doing hair and makeup in one sitting.

Braid sprays, sheen sprays and holding sprays

Braid sprays are watery and go on the scalp and the length of a protective style. Mazuri braid spray with tea tree and Irish moss, Better Braids braid spray and All Day Locks are the ones people come back for. Jamaican Mango and Lime No More Itch Gro Spray is the long standing option for that week or two after an install when everything feels tight.

Sheen sprays are oil based and sit on the surface. Frizz, humidity and the weather here

UK summer humidity often runs between 75% and 90%, which is enough to lift the cuticle on textured hair and undo a set by mid afternoon. A light hold spray over a dry style holds better than more cream underneath. Winter flips it. Central heating pulls indoor air down to around 30% humidity, and that is when a moisturising braid spray earns its place.

Keeping build up down

Sprays are the quiet cause of dull hair. Sheen and hold products settle at the roots and along braid partings, and they do not rinse out with an ordinary conditioner wash. Use them at arm's length in short bursts, focus on the length rather than the scalp, and clarify every few weeks. If a spray leaves your hair sticky the next morning, you are using too much or standing too close.
