Modern Slavery Statement

This statement is published voluntarily under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Zenvy Beauty's annual turnover sits below the £36 million threshold that triggers a mandatory statement, but we publish one anyway because the principle matters and our supply chain crosses into territories where modern slavery and labour exploitation risk is documented.

Our business

Zenvy Beauty is a UK-registered online retailer of curly-hair products. We don't manufacture. We resell products from established American and UK haircare brands — The Doux, SheaMoisture, Oyin Handmade, Bounce Curl, Kitsch — sourced through their official UK distributors and direct relationships with the brands.

Our supply chain

Our supply chain has three tiers:

  1. Tier 1 — Brands and distributors. Each brand we stock is our direct supplier, either through their official UK arms or licensed distributors. Each is a US- or UK-based company subject to its own modern-slavery legislation and publishes its own statement.
  2. Tier 2 — Manufacturing. The brands manufacture in the US (primarily California, New Jersey, and the Mid-West) and in China and Vietnam (accessories). We rely on each brand's own due diligence for tier-2 suppliers.
  3. Tier 3 — Raw ingredients and packaging. Shea butter from West Africa (SheaMoisture sources via the Community Commerce program from women's co-operatives in Ghana), botanical extracts, and packaging components. We don't have direct visibility here but rely on brand-level transparency.

Risk assessment

The highest modern-slavery risk in our chain is at tier 3 — agricultural raw materials and overseas manufacturing of accessories. The lowest risk is at tier 1, where all our direct suppliers are publicly traded or established companies in jurisdictions with strong labour protections.

Steps we take

  • We only source from brands that publish their own modern-slavery statement or equivalent ethical-sourcing policy.
  • We review each brand's published commitments at least annually.
  • We refuse to stock private-label products or unbranded "white-label" curly-hair items where supply-chain visibility is not available.
  • SheaMoisture's Community Commerce program — buying shea butter directly from women's co-operatives in Ghana, with above-market pricing — was a deciding factor in our partnership.
  • We pay all suppliers within the agreed terms (typically 30 days net, often faster). Late payment is a known driver of supply-chain stress.
  • If a credible concern about labour practices is raised regarding any product we stock, we will remove the product from sale pending investigation by the brand.
