Moroccanoil's Root Boost is a 7.7 oz targeted spray: you lift the hair in sections, mist at the roots only, then dry with your fingers or a brush to set the lift.
Argan oil is in the formula, which is what stops it drying the hair out the way a lot of volumisers do. The lift holds through the day, and the hair itself stays soft rather than turning chalky or sticky to the touch.
It is aimed at fine to medium hair. Anything denser than that will not need the root lift in the first place, and the spray is too light to do much for it.

Application tips
Damp hair takes it best, straight out of the towel. Two or three pumps per section is plenty, and more only makes the roots sticky rather than higher.
Dry against the direction the hair falls, then let it drop back once it is cool, which is what sets the lift. Mid afternoon, a single pump at the crown picks a flat parting back up.
Results
Roots stand away from the scalp rather than lying flat against it, and the effect lasts through the day instead of dropping by lunchtime.
Hair keeps its movement, so nothing looks lacquered or set, and there is no stickiness at the root when you touch it. Fine and medium hair gains the most, and the argan oil in it means the lift never costs you a dry, chalky texture.
