Application tips
Open the clip with a thumb, slide it flat against the head, and let it close along the direction the hair is lying rather than against it. For sectioning, take the hair up first and clip at the base of the twist so the section stays put while you work the one below.
For a fringe, one clip pushed straight back holds it clear of the face while makeup goes on.
Results
They hold without creeping down through the afternoon, which is the whole job and the thing cheap clips fail at. Fine hair stays gripped and thick sections stay closed.
The black coating disappears into dark hair, and the profile is low enough to wear under a headscarf without a lump showing. A dozen covers a full head with a few left over for the handbag.
