Application tips
Work on dry hair, not wet. Wet hair stretches, and a razor cut on stretched hair comes up shorter than you meant.
Hold the section taut between two fingers and stroke the cutter down the length at a shallow angle, taking a little at a time. For a fringe, work from underneath and go slowly. Change the blade when it starts tugging instead of slicing, because a blunt guarded blade will chew the ends.
Results
The guard keeps the blade off the skin, so the risk of a nick is low even for someone cutting their own fringe in a bathroom mirror. Ends come away softly rather than blunt, which is why it suits layering and thinning better than a straight scissor line. It stores in a drawer alongside the rest of the kit, which is what makes a fortnightly tidy-up realistic.
