Shrinkage is the thing this gel is built around. Coily hair can dry at half the length it has when wet, and an elongating gel works by weighting the curl slightly as it sets, so the pattern stretches out instead of springing up.
Flaxseed oil handles the moisture and the shine, rosewater keeps the formula light and takes the frizz down. The hold is flexible rather than firm, which is what elongation needs. Too much grip and the curl locks in place before it has finished stretching.
Apply to soaking wet hair and rake it through with your fingers, then either band the sections or let them hang while they dry. Do not scrunch, since scrunching is the opposite of what you are after here. Suits 2c through 4b, and it works best on hair long enough to have some weight of its own.

Application tips
Apply to soaking wet hair, straight out of the shower, because water is what lets a curl stretch out. Work through in sections with the fingers, then rake, shingle or squish depending on how much definition you want.
Air dry or diffuse on low. Once it is properly dry, scrunch the cast out with a drop of oil on the palms and leave the rest alone.
Results
Curls hang longer than they would unaided, with less shrinkage pulling the length back up the head. The pattern stays separate and readable instead of clumping into one mass.
The hold has give in it, so hair still moves and does not crunch under a hand. Frizz sits down for the day, and the finish is soft with a light shine rather than a wet gel look.
