A fan brush picks up almost nothing, which is the entire reason to own one. Spread thin across a wide arc, the bristles hold a whisper of product, and that is exactly the amount of highlighter you want on a cheekbone.
The RMUB04 uses soft synthetic fibres, so it works with pressed and loose powders alike and does not drink up product the way natural hair can. Past highlight, it is useful for dusting setting powder on in a light sweep, for softening the hard edge of a contour, and for flicking away the fallout that lands under the eye during eyeshadow.
Synthetic fibres also wash easily. A drop of shampoo, a rinse, then lay it flat to dry so the fan keeps its shape. Tap the excess off before it touches your face, because a fan brush loaded properly will still deposit more than you intended.
