Application tips
Brush after moisturising, on hair that is slightly damp rather than soaking, so the strands move and stay where they are put. Ten minutes is plenty.
Go front, then left, then right, then back, working outwards from the swirl at the crown each time. Cover with a durag or a wave cap straight afterwards while everything is still lying flat. Clean the bristles weekly.
Results
The pattern gets deeper rather than wider, because every pass pushes the hair the same way instead of arguing with it. Shine builds alongside, since the bristles pick up oil at the root and spread it down the shaft.
On a trained head it is the maintenance brush. On a new one it does most of the work through the first few months.
