Orchid oil is the base, and Redavid build the whole range around it. In a curl creme it behaves as a rich but non-greasy emollient, so the hair takes the moisture without the finish going flat or oily.
The second half of the formula is Dynagen-R, a protein complex aimed at strength and elasticity. That is worth knowing if your curls stretch and stay stretched rather than springing back, which is usually an elasticity problem rather than a moisture one.
In use it is a thick creme that spreads more easily than it looks like it will. Work it through damp hair, shape the sections, and the pattern holds through the day with shine rather than a cast. Application tips
Start with a coin sized amount for shoulder length curls and add rather than over apply.
Hair wants to be wet enough that it is still dripping slightly, since a creme this rich needs water to spread. Rake it through each section with your fingers, then scrunch upward to encourage the coil. Clip the roots for volume, and leave it alone while it dries. Touching it before it sets puts the frizz back in.
Results
Curl clumps hold their edges instead of separating into fluff by the afternoon, and the surface stays glossy rather than crunchy.
Squeeze the hair and it feels soft, with more spring in the pattern where the bounce had gone slack.
On coloured or heat styled lengths the change shows most: less roughness through the middle, and ends that stop looking dry within a wash or two.
