Olive oil is a heavy conditioning oil and this is a heavy product, which is the point of it. Hair brittle enough to snap under a comb needs something that stays on the strand between washes rather than absorbing and vanishing by evening. Worked in part by part, it keeps the hair soft and flexible for days.
It also makes hair easier to handle. Combing, parting and sectioning all get quicker, and less time spent pulling at dry hair means less breakage over a month. Shine comes as a by-product rather than as the main event.
Best on type 2c through 4b, especially natural hair worn in styles that need daily re-moisturising. Start with less than you think, warm it between your palms, and add more only to the ends.

Application tips
This is a between-washes product, so the hair should be dry or barely damp, never dripping. A fingertip's worth per parting is the right dose on a jar that has to last.
Rub it down the length, not into the roots, and go back over anything that still feels rough. If you use a leave-in, this goes on top of it, last.
Results
Texture is thick and stays thick on the strand, which is what makes it last from one wash to the next. Dry ends stop feeling like straw within a day or two of regular use.
Combs and fingers move through more easily, so less hair collects in the sink. On tighter coils it also weighs the frizz down a little without flattening the pattern.
