Application tips
A small amount of gel on the fingertips, spread along the edges, then brush.
Short strokes, barely any pressure, following the shape you want instead of pushing repeatedly at one spot. Two or three passes is the limit before you start working against the hair. Wipe the bristles clean while the product is still wet, and rinse the head under warm water if it has dried in.
Results
Baby hairs lie down in the shape you drew rather than snapping halfway through the swoop. Product spreads thin and even instead of collecting in white clumps along the front.
The head is narrow enough that the rest of the style stays untouched while you work. Children's hairlines suit it for the same reason, since there is no force in the bristles to snap anything.
