The purpose is unchanged. Tie it over freshly laid edges and the gel dries flat. Wear it overnight and the hairline is not being rubbed against cotton for eight hours. Application tips
Lay the edges with whatever product you use, then set the scarf over them.
Hold the middle against the front hairline, take both ends round the back and tie them low, above the nape. Fifteen or twenty minutes is enough before you go out. Overnight, tie it a notch looser and put a bonnet over the length. Untie it rather than dragging it off over the front.
Results
Edges stay where they were laid instead of lifting as they dry, and they keep that shape through the night without a hard elastic pressing into the hairline.
Flyaways settle. Worn out and about it holds a wrap or a set of braids in place while reading as an accessory, and the pattern gives it a second life as something you would choose to be seen in.
