The test of a styling gel is what happens on day two. This one is built to come back with water alone, so a wash-and-go or a laid ponytail can be dampened and rearranged the next morning instead of restyled from scratch with more product on top.
It is the anti-shedding member of the Gel Essence range, with biotin and pea sprout extract as the fortifying ingredients, plus glycerin and betaine pulling moisture into the hair so it stays soft underneath the hold. The formula is fully vegan and leaves out alcohol, formaldehyde, parabens, mineral oil, silicones, phthalates and petrolatum.

Application tips
Wet hair, sectioned, and the gel raked through until every strand has some. Follow the rake with a scrunch for clumps, or a smoothing palm for a sleeker line. Ponytails go up while the gel is still wet.
Air dry or diffuse, and leave it alone until dry. Next morning, wet hands and reshape. Nothing to reapply.
Results
Hold is strong but keeps some give, so hair bends rather than snapping once it is set. Underneath it the hair stays soft to the touch, because the humectants are holding water in while the gel holds shape.
Nothing flakes and nothing goes chalky, which on a tub used this often matters. Sets and wash and gos keep their shape into a second and third day.
