It is the same concentrated, water-based polymer hold as the professional jar, packed small enough to keep in a bag for touch-ups. Grip is the whole point here, so expect it to hold firmer than a standard locking gel and to need a little more care with placement. It still rinses out cleanly on wash day, with none of the residue a wax leaves behind.
Suits coarse and resistant textures, and new locs at the stage where they will not stay twisted. If your hair holds a retwist easily, the standard gel is the better buy and will feel lighter on the hair.
