Extra Stark is the hardest finish in Gummy's wax range. It is built for structure: spikes, sharply defined shapes, anything that has to hold a form rather than simply stay tidy. The hold lasts through humidity and a long day without dropping, and despite the strength the wax does not leave hair stiff to the touch or crusted with residue. That balance is why barbers keep it on the counter.

Work it between the fingers first, then build up rather than committing everything at once, since a hard-finish wax is not easy to redistribute once it is in. A blast of heat from a dryer while you shape helps it set exactly where you want it.

150ml jar. Best for short to medium cuts with enough length to shape, and for anyone whose current wax gives up by the afternoon.

Application tips

This one wants dry hair. Scoop a little with a fingertip and rub it between both palms until it turns clear and warm, which takes about ten seconds and makes the difference between a smooth application and a patchy one. Work it back through the top, then use a comb for a defined part. Blast with a dryer while shaping to lock the hard finish in.

Results

Firm and dry to the touch, so a quiff or a sharp part keeps its edge from morning through to the evening. Hair looks structured rather than soft. It does not go sticky in a warm room or leave a residue you can feel on your fingers. The 150ml pot is deep, and a fingertip per style makes it last months.
