Work in small circles on damp hair with a little cream or gel already through it. Dry hair and a dry sponge give you frizz. Best on short to medium natural hair, type 3 through type 4, at the length where coils will actually form.

Application tips
Hair wants to be freshly washed and still holding water, with a leave-in already through it. Sponge on dry hair pulls rather than turns.
Keep the movement light and let the foam do the turning; pressing hard just tangles the base. Two passes over the same patch is usually the limit before coils start to unravel. Rinse the glove under a tap afterwards and leave it to dry face up, or the foam holds product and stops gripping.
Results
Coils come out even from front to back. The last section looks like the first, which is the part that flat sponges tend to lose once your grip starts to go.
Definition is tight rather than fluffy, and it holds shape through a couple of days before it needs refreshing. On the way to locs it gives clean, uniform starts instead of a patchwork of sizes.
