The 850-00 is a wooden brush with natural boar bristles and a handle long enough to get across the shoulders and down the backs of the legs. Boar is firm without being scratchy, so it buffs off dry skin and works a body wash into a lather at the same time.

Application tips
Wet the bristles before the first stroke. Boar hair softens considerably once it has taken water, and a dry brush on dry skin is harsher than it needs to be.
Work in long strokes up the calves and in across the shoulders. A small amount of wash on the bristles goes further than a handful on a flannel. Two minutes is plenty.
Results
The back gets properly washed for once, shoulder blades included. Boar bristle is firm enough to lift away the dry, flaky surface that a flannel slides straight over, so skin feels smoother out of the bath and moisturiser goes on evenly afterwards.
The lather is better too, since bristles whip a body wash up in a way a cloth does not.
