Application tips
Snap pins want something to close against. Pick up a small amount of hair, slide the pin flat along the head so it gathers a little more as it goes, then press the middle until it shuts. Set them at a slight angle rather than straight across; the pin bites better and the flower sits square. Open them by pressing the ends towards each other rather than pulling.
Results
Hold and decoration out of one object. A section stays pinned all evening, and what shows is a flower rather than metal, so the fixing reads as part of the style.
On dark hair the detail stands out from across a room. On lighter shades it is quieter and more tonal. They sit flat enough to survive a hug, a coat collar and a car headrest.
