A silky gel is a specific texture. It goes on like a gel, then dries down to a smooth, almost powdery finish rather than staying tacky. That is down to the silicones in it.
Cyclopentasiloxane and a dimethicone crosspolymer give this one its slip and its dry-down, with cetearyl isononanoate adding a clean, polished feel and parfum keeping the formula easy to spread. In practice it is a finishing step. Skin looks smoother and a little more even, and it makes a decent base under other products.
