Application tips
Part off the section you want out of the way, twist it once so it holds together, then open the jaw fully and let it close over the twist near the root. Clipping a loose section is what makes a clamp slide.
Work front to back for colour, and bottom to top for a blow dry, releasing one section at a time and clipping the rest back up as you go.
Results
Sections hold their line, so a home colour goes on evenly instead of in patches. The spring keeps hold of hair that is thick, or slippery from conditioner, rather than walking down the length as you work.
Nothing gets pressed hard enough to leave a bend once you unclip. Black keeps them out of sight in dark hair, which matters when you photograph a style before it is finished.
