Application tips
Cream goes on soaking wet, not damp. Take a section, run it through with flat palms, then either rake with your fingers or scrunch upwards, depending on whether you want the curls stretched or springy. A ten pence blob covers a section of average thickness.
Once the whole head is done, leave it be while it air dries, or diffuse on low heat. Redistributing it halfway through is what breaks the clumps.
Results
Curls hold their shape and clump properly, and frizz stays down through a damp British afternoon. It is light enough that fine waves keep their volume rather than being dragged flat.
As it dries the finish stays soft, so there is nothing to break out afterwards, and hair feels conditioned rather than coated. Second day curls are usually still worth keeping.
