Application tips
Takedown is where this earns its keep. Work on dry hair before you wet anything.
Squeeze the cream into the section you have just unravelled rather than over the whole head, give it a minute to soften the shed hair that has wrapped itself round the braid, then separate with your fingers from the ends up. A wide tooth comb comes last, never first.
Results
The matted plug at the root of an old braid loosens instead of tearing out, and the shedding that looks alarming at takedown turns out to be mostly hair that was already loose.
Sections come apart cleanly. Hair feels soft rather than stripped once the style is out, which makes the wash that follows quicker and far less of a fight.
