CurlyKids Curly Creme Leave-in Conditioner 6oz
Made for children's hair, though nothing in it stops an adult using it. The formula is deliberately simple: water, cetyl alcohol and glyceryl stearate for the creamy texture and slip, with sweet almond oil to soften.
The point of a kids' leave-in is that it has to work quickly and not make a fuss. This one adds enough moisture and slip after washing to get a comb through without tears, and it stays light on the hair so a wash-and-go, twist-out or protective style still moves properly.
Apply to damp or dry hair and work it through the mid-lengths and ends, where curls need it most. Between wash days, a small amount will refresh a style rather than needing to start again.

Application tips
Catch the hair while it is still dripping. Warm a small amount between the palms and press it down the strand with flat hands so the cuticle lies the way it grows, rather than raking against the grain.
Follow with a wide-tooth comb only where knots are forming. Between washes, a pea-sized amount on the ends will wake a twist-out up without wetting the whole head.
Results
The comb-through afterwards is the obvious difference. Slip arrives quickly and hair stays soft for the rest of the day, with no drying out by teatime.
Styles keep their movement because the creme is light on the strand, so a wash-and-go still bounces and a protective style does not go stiff. Curls feel conditioned, not coated.
