Knot Away is Creme of Nature's answer to that specific moment. It goes on before the comb, not after, and the honey, coconut oil and shea butter in it give enough glide for knots to release rather than tear. Used properly it takes real time off wash day, which matters if you have a lot of hair and a small window.
Work it onto damp hair, section by section. Start at the ends and move up in short passes with a wide-tooth comb or your fingers. Add more product wherever the comb meets resistance rather than pulling harder.
It is a leave-in, so nothing gets rinsed and it keeps conditioning after the detangling is done. 237ml, and best suited to 2C through 4A.

Application tips
Before the comb, never after. Damp hair, one section at a time.
Work from the bottom upward in short strokes, using a wide-tooth comb or nothing but your fingers. Where the comb sticks, put more product on it instead of pulling harder. Nothing gets rinsed, so it keeps conditioning after the tangles are gone.
Results
Knots release rather than tear, and that is where most avoidable breakage disappears.
What separates it from a plain slip spray is that conditioning happens at the same time, rather than lubrication and nothing else.
