The finish is shiny rather than matte, and it does not flake as it dries down, so a style laid in the morning still looks laid by the evening. Edge control is one of the few products where less genuinely works better. A fingertip covers one side of the hairline. Loading it on gives you a wet look that dries into a crust, and it takes longer to wash out than it took to put on. Build in thin layers if the first pass is not enough.
