Creme Of Nature build this one on argan oil. The point of the creamy base is that the oil is carried into the hair with water rather than sitting on the surface, so dry hair takes it up properly. Used daily it keeps hair pliable, which is what stops the mid-week crunchiness dry natural hair falls into. A straight oil cannot do that on its own. It seals in whatever moisture is already present, and on hair that has none to begin with, sealing is the wrong step.
