Anyone at 2C and tighter who finds ordinary conditioners disappear on contact will get more out of a cream formula than a lotion one.
This is the thicker end of the Cantu conditioner range. Sulphate-free through the whole system, built on pure shea butter, and aimed at hair that is dry, brittle or natural and losing moisture faster than it can hold it. The texture is closer to a mask than to a standard rinse-out, so it coats rather than runs.
What that gives you:
- Moisture that lasts past the first day after washing
- Enough slip to detangle 3C and 4B hair in the shower
- Better elasticity, which is what stops ends snapping under a comb
- A softer, less wiry feel on natural hair
400ml is a lot of conditioner, though not when you are using a palmful per section. Apply, detangle while it is on, leave a few minutes, rinse. On a deep conditioning day, leave it longer and add heat with a cap.
It layers well, which matters on tighter textures. Rinse it out, put a leave-in on damp hair while the strands are still holding water, then seal with an oil or a butter if your hair drinks moisture faster than it keeps it. Skipping the leave-in wastes half of what this has just done.

Application tips
This coats rather than runs, so it needs contact. Wring the water out first, then take a palmful per section and press it in from the ends up.
Ten minutes is not too long on a wash day you are not rushing. Rinse until the slip has gone. If a cream this thick weighs your roots down, keep it below the ears.
Results
Tight textures keep some softness into the second and third day rather than reverting to wiry by the following morning. The slip is heavy enough to work through 4B hair under the shower without losing strands to the comb.
Ends bend rather than snapping. Natural hair reads plumper and less brittle, and curls fall in defined pieces once dry.
