Split ends cannot be mended, and any product claiming otherwise is selling you something. What a good leave-in cream does is smooth the damaged cuticle down so the ends look and behave better, then keep the rest of the length flexible enough that new splits form more slowly.
This one uses the shea butter formula with pure avocado oil, plus aloe and olive oil. It is thick, so it stays put on dry, brittle lengths instead of soaking away in seconds, and it holds on to the water you put in at the sink. Hair reads softer and shinier within a wash or two.

Application tips
Damp hair and a thick cream want warming first. Rub it between the palms, then press it into the ends before working upward, stopping short of the roots.
Comb it through with something wide toothed, then style over the top. On the days between washes, take a smaller amount over dry ends rather than reapplying to the whole head.
Results
Ends look smoothed down and behave better, which is as much as any product can honestly do once a strand has split.
The rest of the length keeps its flexibility, so new splits form more slowly. Softness and gloss arrive after a couple of uses and hold for days, since the cream traps the moisture from washing rather than letting it evaporate off.
