Application tips
Soaking hair is the requirement, so either apply straight out of the shower or wet the hair again from a spray bottle. Work it in with your fingers open, then shape the curls in whatever direction you want them to sit, because they will dry that way.
Skip the diffuser, since it is meant to stay damp. Overnight, pile the hair loosely on top of the head to keep the pattern.
Results
The curl pattern comes forward on its own rather than being held into shape, which is what separates an activator from a gel. Coils that normally swell by lunchtime stay clumped and defined.
