Olive oil and shea butter are the two conditioning ingredients here, and they are a sensible pairing for children's hair: olive oil for slip and softness, shea butter for the moisture that dry, curly textures lose fastest.
The cream is thick enough to coat the strand properly, which is what makes the difference to detangling. Knots come apart, dryness eases, and hair is left feeling stronger rather than squeaky. Cutting down how much snaps during combing is how children keep the length they grow, so a good conditioner does more for length than most products claiming to.
Apply after shampooing, comb through with your fingers, leave it a few minutes and rinse. On very dry hair, leave a little in rather than rinsing it all out.
