African Pride Moisture Miracle Curl Defining Gel 510g
Aloe and coconut water are both mostly water, which is the point. This 510 g gel is the lighter half of the Moisture Miracle styling range: enough hold to keep a curl in shape, not enough to lock it rigid. Alcohol is left out, so the hair does not go dry and dusty under the set, and it does not flake as it dries. What you get is definition with a bit of give in it, plus the shine that comes from a smoothed-down cuticle rather than from an added oil.
Apply to small sections of clean, wet hair, smooth downward, then define each section immediately with a comb or brush before it starts to set. Scrunch as much as you want the curl to spring. It suits type 2C through 4A, and it is a sensible gel for anyone who has found max hold formulas too stiff for everyday wear.

Application tips
Work it over a leave in rather than straight onto bare hair, or the definition sets on a strand with nothing underneath it. Wet sections, a coin of gel each, then either finger coil the front where it shows or rake and clump the back where it does not. Diffuse on low heat or leave it. Scrunch the cast out once everything is completely dry.
Results
Curls set into clean, separated clumps and stay that way through the day. Frizz sits down along the top of the head, which is where it shows most.
The hold is firm while it dries and soft once you break it. No flaking, no white specks in dark hair, and no dried out feeling underneath, since the gel holds moisture in as well as shape.
