Filit04Gol is the gold shade in the range, which reads warm against most skin tones and shows up well in a chunky box braid or a faux loc. It is soft enough to work with straight from the pack and holds a twist without needing to be sealed. Because it weighs so little, you can go longer or fuller than you normally would without the pull that usually turns up at the temples by day three.

Application tips
Cut the lengths you need before you start braiding and hang them over the back of a chair, because measuring mid-braid slows everything down. Fold each piece over the sectioned hair and begin the braid with the natural hair alone for the first centimetre, so the join sits flat. Seal nothing at the ends, since a knot or a simple wrap is enough. To take them down, unpick rather than cut.
Results
Matte and dense is how it reads, so the braids look like solid colour rather than shiny synthetic fibre, and the gold catches light on movement instead of glaring under it. The weight difference is obvious after a day. There is no scalp ache at the temples and no headache by evening, which is what usually shortens the life of a long protective style.
