The Lagos Braid strand sits in a useful middle ground between grip and slip. There is enough friction to hold a section while you part and feed, but not so much that it drags when you pull length through. Parts come out clean and the braid lanes stay tidy at the roots.

It is a Kanekalon-style modacrylic fibre, soft but with enough structure to plait neatly. Light enough to wear in volume without the weight pulling at the scalp, and it resists tangling through the wear of the style.

Braiders mix two or three shades in small feed-in increments to build depth, and this fibre takes that well, so the colour transition reads as gradual rather than as a hard line halfway down the braid.

It suits everything from fine detail braids to full, high-density installs on wavy, curly and coily hair. If you are new to pre-stretched fibre, the thing to adjust is how much you take per braid. The taper makes a section look thinner in the hand than it actually is, and most people pull too much on the first few before they calibrate.
