Three jobs in one wash: it cleanses, it conditions, and it puts colour back. The Cocoa shade is for refreshing brown tones that have faded since the salon, and it does the work while you are already in the shower rather than as a separate hour on a Sunday.
The colour comes from direct dyes carried by a cationic conditioning complex, so pigment and conditioner arrive on the hair together rather than one after the other. The formula is balanced to a pH of 5.3 to 5.8, which keeps the cuticle behaving and the tone reading true rather than shifting under different light. There are no sulphates, parabens, peroxide, salt, PPD or PTD in it. Cruelty-free, and made in the USA.
You control the strength through timing, which is the genuinely useful part. Apply to wet hair, work it from the roots through the ends, then leave it for 10 to 15 minutes for a stronger deposit, 2 to 5 minutes for a lighter touch, or rinse sooner still for a subtle refresh. Start short and build across washes rather than committing on the first go.
Suits colour-treated hair, including natural level 7 and pre-lightened strands, and the same system puts temporary fashion colours within reach on lighter bases. Sold as a 2 count.

Application tips
Gloves on, because it deposits colour and it will not know the difference between hair and hands. Wet the hair, work it through evenly from roots to ends, and leave it a few minutes so the pigment has time to take. Rinse until the water runs clear. Frequency controls depth: every wash for a strong cocoa, every third for a hint of it.
Results
Faded colour comes back up a shade towards warm brown, and the tone sits evenly rather than patching at the ends. Hair is cleansed and conditioned in the same step, so there is nothing to follow it with.
Grey and lightened sections take more pigment than the rest, which is worth knowing before the first wash. The effect fades gradually instead of growing out in a line.
