Application tips
Section size is your control. Small sections wrapped tightly give uniform, defined curls; wider sections wrapped loosely leave something with more swing in it.
Begin at the back, where a mistake is hidden while you find your rhythm, hold each wrap for a slow count and release it into your hand. If you only want a few pieces done, take them from the front and around your face.
Results
Curls come out defined and weighty enough to keep their shape into the evening rather than dropping within the hour.
Heat holds the same the whole way along, so a curl taken from underneath looks like the ones on top, which is where an uneven set normally gives itself away. Put through an otherwise straight style, a handful of curled pieces read as deliberate texture.
