Curly, coily and afro hair does not dry well under a nozzle. It needs lifting and separating as the air goes through it, and that is what the pik attachment on the PowerPik 5000 is for. It gets in at the root, lifts, detangles gently as it goes and dries without flattening the curl pattern or dragging it out of shape.

Behind the pik is a 2000W motor, which matters because dense textured hair holds a lot of water. Three heat settings and two speeds let you match the tool to your hair rather than the other way round, and there is a cool shot for setting the style at the end.

  • 2000W motor for fast drying on thick and highly textured hair
  • Volumising pik attachment that lifts from the root and detangles as you dry
  • Ionic output to bring down static and flyaway
  • Three heat settings, two speeds and a cool shot button

Best for type 3 and type 4 hair being dried into volume rather than straightened.

Application tips

Start on damp hair with your leave-in or cream already worked through. Not soaking, and definitely not bone dry.

Push the pik in at the root and move it in small circles instead of combing down the length, which is what drags a pattern out. Work from the back forwards, section by section, on a middle heat, then hit each finished area with the cool shot to fix it.

Results

Roots lift and the whole head sits taller, so shrinkage stops hiding the length you actually have. Curls dry separated rather than matted into one lump.

Dense type 4 hair reaches dry in a fraction of the time air drying takes, and the pattern survives the process instead of being pulled straight. Static stays down, so the finish looks defined rather than fuzzy round the edges.
