Application tips
Fit the pik before you start and leave the nozzle in the drawer. Swapping halfway defeats the object.
Work upwards from the nape in small sections, sliding the teeth in at the root and drawing them out slowly through the length. Slow is the operative word, since the comb is doing two jobs at once. Anything that snags wants more conditioner rather than more force.
Results
Height at the root and body all the way down, in place of a shape pressed flat against the head.
Coils and curls separate as the teeth travel through, so you finish with definition instead of one dense mass. Because it works through the knots on the way, there is no combing session waiting at the end. Thick hair reaches dry sooner, which keeps total heat down.
