The Neo Liner carries an ultra-fine T-blade in high-carbon stainless steel, ground thinner than a general trimmer blade so it can be laid flat against the skin and drawn along a line without the housing lifting it away. That is what makes an edge crisp instead of soft: the blade meets the skin at the same angle for the whole length of the stroke.
It handles hairlines, the shape round the ears, a straight neckline you cannot see while you cut it, and the fine work at the edge of a beard. It also holds stubble at an even length if that is the look you keep.

Application tips
Set the line where it already sits rather than a few millimetres above. Chase it upwards every week and by the end of the month your hairline has moved.
Use a hand mirror against the bathroom one for the back. Take the blade down in one steady stroke, then check with your fingertips instead of your eyes. Every three or four days is enough to keep an edge looking cut.
Results
Edges come out sharp enough to hold up at close range, whether that is a hairline, the shape round an ear or the border of a beard.
Stubble ends up at one even length rather than patchy in places. A neckline reads as a line instead of trailing off. Between barber visits the cut carries on looking recent, which is the whole reason to keep one in the drawer.
