Application tips
Use them in order. Senior first for bulk and the fade, guards on, then put it down and pick up the Detailer for anything that needs an edge.
Do not try to outline with the clipper or lift bulk with the trimmer; each is wrong for the other job. Charge both the night before rather than one at a time, and get the cape on before either tool comes near anyone.
Results
A whole haircut from two tools with no gap between them: bulk down, blend up, then the outline, ears and neckline squared off at the finish.
Neither is tethered, so you move round the chair instead of lifting a cable over a shoulder. The result looks like shop work rather than something done at home, because the edges get the same attention as the fade did.
