Application tips
Lay the guards out in order before you start and write down which number suits which person. Half the battle with a family kit is remembering what you used last time.
Longest guard first, every time, then work up through the numbers if it needs taking shorter. Do the bulk with the clipper, then change to the detail attachment for the edges and around the ears.
