Unwash Bio-Cleansing Conditioner - Gentle Hydrating Co-Wash for Curly & Dry Hair | Sulfate & Paraben Free | 13.5 oz
A co-wash is a conditioner you wash with. There is no lather, because there is no sulphate in it, and the cleansing comes from the conditioning agents lifting surface dirt and product away rather than stripping the hair back to nothing. For dry and curly hair that is often the better trade.
Unwash's Bio-Cleansing Conditioner is 13.5 oz of exactly that. Hydrolysed keratin gives the strand something structural to hold onto, shea butter does the moisturising, and sea buckthorn extract sits alongside them. It leaves the hair's own oils in place, which is the whole reason people move to co-washing, and it takes one step out of the shower instead of two. Massage it into the scalp and through the lengths the way you would a shampoo, then rinse thoroughly. It is safe on colour-treated and chemically processed hair, and free of sulfates and parabens. Best for type 2a through 3c hair that runs dry, frizzy or coily. If your scalp gets oily quickly, keep a clarifying shampoo for every third or fourth wash.

Application tips
Use more than you would use of shampoo, and take longer over it. On soaking wet hair, spend a couple of minutes working it into the scalp with your fingertips, since the friction does what the lather would normally do.
Take the rest through the lengths, leave it while you finish, then rinse for longer than feels necessary. Under-rinsing is what makes a co-wash feel heavy.
Results
Nothing foams, and that takes a couple of washes to get used to. Hair still comes out clean, but soft rather than squeaky, because its own oils are still on it.
Curls sit heavier and better defined. Ends stop looking dry within a wash or two, and colour holds longer than it does under a foaming shampoo.
