This is a shampoo doing the work of a treatment, which is useful on a wash day that keeps overrunning. It cleanses, but it is formulated to leave conditioning behind rather than strip the hair back to squeaking.
The formula is sulphate-free and paraben-free. On curly, wavy and coily hair that matters more than it does on straight hair, because sulphates lift the cuticle and take the moisture with them, and textured hair has further to travel to get that moisture back.
Expect a low lather. Sulphate-free shampoos usually give you one, and it is not a sign the shampoo is failing. Work it into the scalp with your fingertips, let the runoff clean the lengths, and rinse. The 354ml bottle goes further than it looks, because you need less of it than a foaming shampoo.
Good for anyone whose curls feel dry and squeaky after washing, and good as the first step before a mask. Wavy through 4c, though the drier your hair, the more you will want something rich behind it.
