Tropic Isle Living Jamaican Black Castor Oil - Red Pimento Hair Growth & Scalp Oil for All Hair Types 118ml/3.99 oz
Red pimento is allspice, and adding it to black castor oil does two noticeable things. It warms the scalp slightly on contact, and it gives the oil a spiced, peppery smell instead of the plain smoky one. If you like the tingle from a peppermint oil but want something warmer, this is that.
The base underneath is the same traditionally roasted Tropic Isle black castor oil, so it is thick, dark and best applied in sections rather than poured. The scent is the strongest in the range and it stays on the hair for a day or two.
- Warm, spiced scent that lingers
- Conditions the scalp and eases the dry, tight feeling
- Seals damp ends so moisture holds through the week
- Reduces the breakage that comes from combing dry hair
Apply along partings, massage in, then use whatever is left on your hands through the ends. Made for type 3b to 4c textures. 118ml/3.99 oz.

Application tips
Patch test behind an ear and wait a day before you commit. Pimento is warming and not every scalp wants it.
When you do use it, work on a dry, sectioned head, drop it along the exposed line and massage that section before moving on. Once or twice a week. Skip it altogether on a scalp that has just been relaxed, coloured, or scratched raw by a tight style.
Results
You feel this one. Warmth comes up within a minute of massaging and settles into a low hum rather than a burn, and the spiced smell hangs around for a day or two afterwards.
The oil underneath does the ordinary work, sealing the tips and taking the tight, dry feeling out of the scalp. Hair holds a heavy, low shine. Of everything Tropic Isle make, this carries the strongest scent.
