Pure olive oil, 200 ml, nothing added. That simplicity is the whole proposition, and it is worth saying plainly rather than dressing up.
Olive oil is heavy and occlusive, which is the reason people either swear by it or find it too much. On hair it is best used as a pre-wash treatment: warm a little, work it through dry lengths, leave it under a cap for half an hour, then shampoo. Used that way it softens rough hair and cuts frizz without leaving the coated feeling you get from leaving it in. On skin it is a different job entirely. A few drops on damp skin after a shower, particularly on shins, elbows and hands in winter, and it stays put.
Where it does not belong is on a fine, oily scalp, or on hair you plan to wear down the same day without washing. Everyone else, from wavy 2a to coily 4a, gets something from a bottle of decent olive oil in the cupboard.
