Application tips
One product, two jobs, so do them in order. Beard first: wet it, work a small amount right down to the skin underneath, and leave it there while you do your hair.
Scalp next, fingertips only. Give the whole lot a minute before rinsing, because the conditioning half needs contact time that a straight shampoo does not. Rinse the beard last and pat it dry rather than rubbing at it.

Beard hair comes out soft enough to comb without the wiry snap, and the skin underneath stops feeling tight after a wash.
Scalp hair is clean without being stripped. Build-up from balm and paste clears in a single pass. The 177 ml bottle is small, which is the point if it lives in a wash bag rather than in the shower.
