TGIN Organic African Shea Butter Mango Deeply Hydrating & Defining for Natural & Textured Hair 227g/8.01 oz
A styling butter, so it is thicker than a cream and heavier than a gel, and it wants to be used on hair that is already wet.
Organic African shea butter is the base, mango gives it the scent, and the whole thing is aimed at hair that dries out between wash days and never quite recovers.
Worked through in sections it softens the strand, clumps the curl and holds definition without any hold ingredients doing the work. Moisture is what does the defining here, which is why the result stays soft instead of setting.
227g tub. Best on type 3b through type 4c textures, particularly the ones that feel rough to the touch when dry. On finer curls it works better on ends only, since a butter at this weight will pull looser patterns straight.
Butyrospermum Parkii (Organic Shea Butter), Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Fragrance, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E)

Application tips
Butters go on last. Wash, condition, get a leave-in or cream in first and let it settle before this touches the hair. Scoop a little, warm it between the palms until it turns to oil, and press it over damp sections rather than combing it through. Twists and braid-outs take more, a wash and go takes almost none. On fine hair, start with less than looks sensible and build.
Results
Dry, dull coils darken up and start catching light again. Definition holds because the butter weighs the curl down a fraction, which is the same reason frizz stops lifting overnight.
Twist-outs come out softer and buy an extra day or two before they need redoing. The finish is a real sheen rather than a greasy film, as long as you kept the amount honest.
Composition
- Shea Butter
- Seals in moisture and softens coarse strands so they stop feeling brittle
- Mango
- Blended with the shea to soften and condition dry, textured lengths
