A pure gel dries too hard and cracks out of a loc within a day. A pure wax builds up and never leaves. This one lands between the two: enough grip to hold a fresh twist while it sets, enough give that the loc still moves afterwards.
It comes in a 250ml pot and you use it sparingly, at the root, working section by section. New growth stays down, frizz along the length stays in check, and the finish is a shine rather than a matt film.

Application tips
Scoop a small amount from the pot and warm it between your palms until it turns clear. Work along one loc at a time, from root to tip, then palm roll or twist at the root while the wax is still soft.
Build up thin layers rather than loading a single heavy one. Too much in one go leaves the loc slow to dry. Let it set fully before you sleep on it or tie it back.
Results
Locs hold the shape you put them in, and the root twist stays closed instead of unravelling by the second day. Stray hairs along the length lie flat. The finish sits somewhere between matte and glossy, a light sheen rather than a wet-looking coat, and the 250ml pot goes a long way because a fingertip per loc is genuinely enough.
