Soft & Precious Nursery Jelly Shea Butter Deeply Nourishing Hair & Skin Conditioner for Sensitive Skin & Hair 368g/12.98 oz
A petroleum jelly base with shea butter blended through it, which is why this one gets used on hair about as often as it gets used on skin. The 368g tub is big enough to sit in the bathroom for months and still get raided for ends, partings and dry elbows.
On textured hair it works as a sealant rather than a moisturiser, and the order matters. Water first, cream or leave-in next, then a thin smear of this over the ends or along a parting to slow the moisture escaping. Used heavily it will weigh curls down and dull the shine it is supposed to be adding, so a little is the whole trick. On skin the job is the same in reverse, sitting on the surface where dry air is pulling moisture out.
- Seals moisture into damp hair after a leave-in
- Smooths the ends of twists, plaits and braids
- Softens dry patches on hands, elbows and heels
- Shea butter through a jelly base, so it spreads thinner than a straight balm
Suits denser type 3 and type 4 textures that lose water quickly, and it is gentle enough for the whole household, which is rather the point of a tub this size.

Application tips
A thin layer goes a long way, so warm a little between the fingers before it goes anywhere. On skin, use it on dry patches, on cheeks in cold weather, and anywhere that needs a barrier.
On hair it seals rather than moisturises, so dampen first, then smear it over the ends or along a fresh parting. Keep the lid on and take it out with clean hands.
Results
Skin holds onto its moisture instead of losing it to the air, and rough patches settle down within a couple of days. The layer protects without going sticky.
On hair, ends stay tucked and a parting reads neat rather than fuzzy. The shea keeps the texture softer than plain jelly, so it spreads without dragging.
Composition
- Shea Butter
