Silicon Mix comes out of Dominican salon culture, where the standard routine involves a lot of heat, a lot of chemical straightening and a lot of repair work in between. The products are built for hair that takes a beating.
This is the original hydrating shampoo in that range, the one for dry and damaged hair rather than the bamboo version. It cleanses and conditions in the same step, and it is heavy enough to make a visible difference on coarse, relaxed or colour-treated hair that other shampoos leave rough. Fine hair may find it too much, and that is the trade-off with a formula this rich.

Application tips
Rinse the hair under warm water for a good half minute first, which loosens most of the surface grime before any shampoo goes on. Then a small amount at the scalp, worked in with the pads of the fingers.
One wash is usually enough. Rinse, then get a conditioner or the matching treatment onto the lengths straight away, since damaged hair should not be left bare and wet for long.
Results
Parched, over worked hair comes out clean without feeling scoured. There is enough slip left to get fingers through it, which is not true of most shampoos aimed at damage.
The ends look less ragged after a few washes and split lengths stop catching on each other. Hair feels softer while it is still wet, which is the first sign a wash suits it.
