A detangling shampoo has to loosen knots while it cleans, because wash day on tightly coiled hair is where most of the breakage happens, and dragging a comb through a tangled wet head is how you lose length.
Red palm oil brings elasticity and softness to the strand, and cocoa butter is the heavier conditioning half, coating the hair so fingers and combs move through it rather than catching. Shea Moisture also build it as an anti-shrinkage formula, so more of the length stays visible once the hair dries.

Application tips
Finger-detangle while the lather is on. That is the window the slip was built for, and once the shampoo is rinsed out it closes.
Start at the ends of each piece and work back towards the scalp with your fingers only, no comb.
Rinse each part in turn rather than tipping the whole head under at once. Loose hair that has already come away needs pulling out as you go, or it re-tangles with everything else.
Results
Knotting that normally happens under a shampoo mostly does not, and the hair stays workable through the wash. Fewer strands come out on wash day, which is where most of the loss happens on tightly coiled hair.
The lengths dry with less shrinkage, so more of the hair you have is visible. The finish is clean but soft, with none of the roughness a plain detergent leaves.
